How to apply for a passport

Here you can read about the application procedure for new passports, renewal of old passports, and provisional/emergency passport for both adults and minors.

In Brazil, the Embassy of Denmark in Brasília and the General Consulate in São Paulo have the biometric equipment, hence passports are only issued at these two missions.

Please note that you need to book an appointment before going to one of the missions. An appointment must be booked for each person going, including minors.

When your new passport has arrived you will be notified by the mission. After that please contact the mission to book an appointment to present yourself and collect the passport. Remember to bring the old passport in order for it to be cancelled.

Contact information on the passport issuing Danish missions in Brazil can be found to the right.

Read about the different application procedures below.
